Looking for a completely unique gift for the naturalist, hunter, or collector in your life? Trying to preserve the legacy of your ranch? Personalized feather paintings make for stunning additions to your or your loved ones' collections. I will do my best to capture your idea and honor your intentions through your commissioned piece.

Submit here your idea in as much detail as you can. Here's an example of what I'm looking for to get us started:

1. Do you have a turkey feather of your own that you'd like to send in? Please let me know either way. If yes, send me a picture beforehand so I can make sure it's a good fit. If not, I will pick a suitable feather from my own stock.
2. What sort of landscape are you looking for? I would prefer a reference picture (or several) if you have one, but I can work with a description if not. Some examples of image description could include: a specific desired location, a type of landmark, the time of day, desired vegetation, etc. This is the most important part of our correspondence! If I feel I can't get the amount of description I need to create a painting for you, or if it seems I wouldn't be able to capture your vision well, I will refuse the commission.
3. What matters to you about this painting? I'd like to know your thoughts just to get a feeling of what should be emphasized.
4. Will you be wanting one of my standard black shadow boxes, or would you like to have it framed yourself?
   

We'll likely need to correspond back-and-forth a good bit to exchange photos. Once I have what I need to get started, I'll provide a black-and-white sketch and description of what I'm thinking and await your final go-ahead. 

Pricing:

I work on a flat rate of $400 per commission unless a special agreement has been made individually. This is for a single feather landscape painting, as seen in my portfolio. $200 deposit will be requested once your commission is accepted, and the final payment amount will be requested once you have received a picture of the finished piece before it's shipped. 

Timeline:

I currently work a full-time job in addition to running my art business, so commissioned pieces will usually take about 1 month to complete from the time I receive your deposit. I reserve the right to take up to 2 months - at which point, you may request a deposit refund and cancel the commission.

 Important note: 

Please look through my portfolio and understand that I will not accept commissions that fall outside of my usual scope. For example, I do not accept commissions for canvas paintings or subjects like human portraiture or animals. I do not accept commission requests for any other feathers than those belonging to a turkey.
